WHAT TYPE ARE MY TORTOISES?

by Richard.

The four of them are the same. They have rounded top shell. Their shell is greenish, symetrically designed with lateral stripes ranging from yellow on a couple to off white on the others They have webbed feet with little claws. They pull their head straight back in. On both sides of their head they have an orange coloured slash.

I'm getting somwhere
by: Richard

Thanks for the info. I have ordered a book and will be able to identify the type of turtle or terrapins I have. They seem to be content swimming in their pond. They come out of the water onto the island to lay in the sun and the larger one is eating a little. Today I'm setting up a temporary house for them to go hide.

Your pets are not tortoises. They are either turtles or terapins. But I can't tell you which kind they are. Sorry.
