What type of tortoise do I really have?

Hi, I've researched the internet and have come up empty. I was given a turtle/tortoise today and was told it was a Russian Hingeback. I've tried to research this specific breed only to find information on African Hingebacks and Russian Tortoises. This poor guy is in terrible shape (cut on the side of his mouth, eye filmy, shell small flakes). I want to set up a healthy environment for him and get him on the way to good health. His shell seems to bend around his little bottom and flare out around his front some. I thought he looked like a picture I found online - Kinixys erosa, but there was nothing else besides the scientific name listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Missi
