whats happening to my baby turtle?

My turtles bottom shell is turning an orange color on the sides and its barely eating the food we give it,it's only a little baby and I'm starting to get really worried. It's also becoming skinnier. But I'm very sorry i don't have any pictures to show what the baby turtle looks like. I've had him for 2 months and have been feeding it ever since. I'm feeding it reptomin mini floating food sticks and it has a picture of a turtle that looks exactly like the one i have. What is happening to my baby turtle?

for a tortoise

I would first ask what kind of substrate do you have in the tortoise home. I found when you use a calci-sand that it causes abrasions on the belly and turns the belly whatever color the sand is. This is not a good thing. It can cause intestional issues and future problems. To avoid you should use a substarte such as organic soil mixed with bed-a-beast.

It's always a good idea to take a new turtle to a vet jsut for a check to be sure everything is fine. You mgiht want to do that with your pet. It sounds like there might be a problem.

In the mean time, be sure you ahve the correct lighting so yoru turtle can metabolize it's food.
