I have 2 red ear sliders. I've had them for three years now since they were about quarter size...


I want to know how can I tell the age and sex of my turtles.

The only way to tell the exact age of a turtle is to be there when it hatches. Size is the other clue.

You can tell the sex of a turtle by its tail and its plastron, the underside of its shell.

Boy turtles have longer and thicker tails than girl turtles.

The plastron of a boy turtle dips in.

Keep it slow and steady.
