What's wrong with my Russian tortoise?

I have a russian tortoise and I have noticed that the underneath of his shell has turned black. Is this normal? Is something wrong?

The plastron of a Russian tortoise can have dark markings. Is that what you are seeing?

Platron problem

I'm not an expert on Russians, but it doesn't sound normal.

Any time your animal's physiology changes, you should probably see a professional.
