We have just been given a male 6" Red Slider. He has an 2" oval area in the center of his back that is whitish with brown lines running through it. The shell is hard. Should we be worried. He also opens his mouth and kind of pushes air out making a little his. Only started doing this after we introduced a female in the tank with him. Suggestions?
