I have 2 russian tortoises Male and female my male and female have become sexualy active and the female has been getting hurt but every time we seperate them they run around the whole time looking for eachother, I have read online getting another female tortoises will lower the sexual activity and lessen both females injury level is this true?

Yes, it's easier on the female if there are others to carry the load. Three females to one male is a good ratio. But be sure you have enough space for all the animals to feel secure. Overcrowding will just cause other problems.

Keep it slow and steady.
