yellowbellied slider shell problem

My terrapin is a female just over 1 year old, she had delevoped pyramiding on her shell from been over feed with protein so for the last three months ive cut back on her food intake, giveing her a better variety, pellers, dryed fish and shrimp, spinach, peppers, mushrooms, cucumber, carrots, and chicken, ham. there is nearly always some veg in the tank, maybe leaving a day or two between putting more veg in, then the pellets fish and meat as treats.

Ive noticed she has lost weight and her shell is starting to smooth out, ive notice today that there is a split around one of her plates on her back, and its white-yellow and the plate is slightly bentable where the split. i cleaned the area with melafix and toothbrush.
Is this a result of the weight lose, and if so is it just her shell smoothing out of is she starting to be under or over feed.
Thanks for the help i realise you might not be able to help with a terrapin but hopefully you will ;-)
Mark

recommends that you see a vet. I think it's probably a good idea unless someone else can tell you exactly what the problem is.

Good luck with your slider.
